2D Panel layout components
General
Elecdes allows you to insert 2D layout representations for your schematic components. You can use the 2D Panel layout components menu to insert 2D layout blocks. The 2D layout blocks have been implemented using AutoCAD Dynamic Blocks. BricsCAD users have the alternative option of using Parametric Blocks, a feature that is also supported by Elecdes and Ebase. Elecdes uses the visibility parameter of dynamic blocks to store different views of a component in a single block. While inserting a 2D layout block you can choose from a list of available views to use in your drawing.
Symbol File names
The file/block names for 2D Panels, Devices, Plates and Accessories begin with a prefix of "VI" followed by "P2D".
e.g. "VIP2DFU.dwg" for a 2D representation of fuse.
The file/block names for 2D Terminals begin with a prefix of "VT" followed by "P2D".
e.g. "VTP2DTerm1.dwg" for a 2D representation of a terminal.
The file/block names for 2D Bar links begin with a prefix of "VW" followed by "P2D".
e.g. VWP2DBAR1.dwg" for a 2D representation of a bar link.
"P2D" identifies it as a 2D layout block.
"I" in the block name identifies it as a 2D Panel or 2D Device or 2D Plate or a 2D Accessory.
"T" in the block name identifies it as a 2D terminal.
"W" in the block name identifies it as a 2D bar link.
NOTE: There is no need to create 'hi' versions for 2D layout blocks.
Directory
The files for these symbols are all found in the following directories:
2D Device symbols: <EDS>\IMP_SCHE\2D Blocks and <EDS>\MET_SCHE\2D Blocks (for metric users)
2D Panels, 2D Plates and 2D Accessories: <EDS>\IMP_SLIN\2D Blocks and <EDS>\MET_SLIN\2D Blocks (for metric users)
2D Terminals and bar conductors: <EDS>\IMP_CNCT\2D Blocks and <EDS>\MET_CNCT\2D Blocks (for metric users)
User created 2D symbols should be created in the <EDS>\USER_SYMB directory
