Cross Reference Query Dialog
EDS programs allow you to navigate to a component in other EDS programs. Whenever the navigation function is run in any of the programs, the Cross Reference Query Dialog will be displayed as shown below.
The Cross Reference Query Dialog contains a list of references for the selected component from all the Elecdes and Paneldes drawings in the project.
Navigating to Elecdes/Paneldes
To navigate to the component in Elecdes/Paneldes, double click on the reference in the list OR select the reference from the list and click on the button. Based on the selected reference, Elecdes/Paneldes will be started, if not already running. The drawing with the selected reference will be opened and the component will be selected and zoomed into the window's view.
Navigating to Instrument Manager/Cable Scheduler
To navigate to the component in Instrument Manager/Cable Scheduler, select the reference from the list and click on the button.
The Cross Reference Query Dialog will look for any running instances of Instrument Manager/Cable Scheduler with the current EDS project loaded. If no instance of Instrument Manager/Cable Scheduler is running or none of them have the current EDS project loaded, the last opened program among the two will be started and the current EDS project will be loaded. Once the project is loaded, the program will search for the component to navigate to based on its naming attributes. If a matching component is found, the component will be navigated to and selected in the Project Tree. If multiple matching components are found, a dialog box will pop up with a list of all the matching components. You can select the desired component in the list and the selected component will be navigated to and selected in the Project Tree.
A matching component may not be found in Instrument Manager/Cable Scheduler, if the database is not synchronised with the project drawings. If this happens, you will be offered to run synchronisation with drawings and try again as shown below.
