How to Quickly Increment the Name of a Component

Fundamentals

The naming attributes of symbols can be incremented quickly in the Elecdes drawing session.

There are two functions for incrementing two types of naming attributes, as detailed below. Each execution of either increment function will increase the attribute by one step.

Incrementation is specified for each attribute in the Naming Sequencer.

How to increment the Tagname, T1, Corename or Wirename attribute

  1. Select Increment Tag, Term, Wire, Core (Conductor) from the Elecdes > Utility menu.

  2. Select any group of devices, terminals, wires and/or cables to be incremented.

    A mixture of Elecdes symbol types is allowed.

  3. Then Press <ENTER>.

  4. To repeat this function press <ENTER> again.

The attributes that will be incremented for the different symbols are:

DevicesTAGNAME
CablesCORENAME
WiresWIRENAME
TerminalsT1 – The terminal number of a terminal
InstrumentsTAGNAME

How to increment the Cablename or Tblock attribute

  1. Select Increment Cable or Tstrip/Tblock from the Elecdes > Utility menu.

  2. Select of any group of terminals and/or cables to be incremented.

  3. Then Press <ENTER>.

  4. To repeat this function press <ENTER> again.

The attributes incremented for the different symbols are:

Devicesnone
CablesCABLENAME
Wiresnone
TerminalsTBLOCK – The terminal strip name of a terminal
Instrumentsnone
