Connection Symbol Attributes

The supplied connection symbols have the set of attributes shown below.

NB: "(cat)" indicates an attribute can be loaded from the catalog.

Cable, Wire and Terminal Attributes

For Terminals:

TBLOCK Visible Parent terminal block, or strip, of terminal
T1 Visible Terminal number or name
T2 Visible Optional second name
MFG invisible (cat) Manufacturer code number ( from manufact.dbf )
CATNO invisible (cat) Manufacturers part number
CATDESC invisible (cat) Catalog description of component
VSN invis. const. Version number, for internal use only
LENGTH invis. const. Length of symbol
REFERENCE Visible Cross-reference data is automatically loaded to this attribute
PNLNO Invisible Panel enclosing device
RSTATUS invisible (cat) Control code for the "report status".
e.g. Set to "No BOM" to exclude from the materials reports.
BUSW invis. const. Optional height of symbol and optional code for reversed symbol

For Cables:

CABLENAME Visible Name of cable containing core(conductor)
CORENAME see below Conductor name of core(conductor)
MFG invisible (cat) Manufacturers code number
CATNO invisible (cat) Manufacturers part number
CATDESC invisible (cat) Catalog description of component
REFERENCE Visible Cross-reference data is automatically loaded to this attribute
RSTATUS invisible (cat) Control code for the "report status".
e.g. Set to "A_END_T" to specify the top connection will go in the "_A" columns.
LENGTH invis. const. Length of symbol if broken into line. Empty or absent if non breaking.

For wires:

WIRENAME Visible Conductor name of wire
WIRENET Invisible Used to explicitly pair or group wire extension markers with the same wire name. See Conductor naming and continuation (Ebase).
MFG invisible (cat) Manufacturer code number ( from manufact.dbf )
CATNO invisible (cat) Manufacturers part number
CATDESC invisible (cat) Catalog description of component
REFERENCE Visible Cross-reference data is automatically loaded to this attribute
RSTATUS invisible (cat) Control code for the "report status".
e.g. Set to "BARCOND" to identify as a link bar or bridge bar.
LENGTH invis. const. Length of symbol if broken into line. Empty or absent if non breaking.

Termination Blocks

FERRULE Visible Ferrule(wire label) data ( see below )
NUMB Invisible

Wire order number ( see below )

Goes in the WORDER field in Global Editor.

MFG invisible (cat) Manufacturers code number for a crimp or cable gland attached to the conductor
CATNO invisible (cat) Manufacturers part number for a crimp or cable gland attached to the conductor
CATDESC invisible (cat) Catalog description for a crimp or cable gland attached to the conductor
NAME invisible Name for crimp or cable gland
INSULATION invisible Insulation pack for a cable gland

Notes

  • The CORENAME is visible for cable core(conductor) and cable core(conductor) extension marker symbols. For the 1 line cable marker the corename is invisible and unused.

  • Termination symbols have a: FERRULE attribute, which is visible and contains the ferrule(wire label) data for the termination to which a ferrule(wire label) is attached.

  • Termination symbols have a NUMB attribute, which is placed on the invisible ETEXT layer. This attribute should contain the numerical order of this termination when reported in the wire schedule (lower numbers are reported first).

  • All of the invisible attributes are used only in reporting. If you do not intend to create reports for your drawings, you will not need to enter data for invisible attributes.
