Update Databases from Cloned Drawings

General

The transfer of data between the Protogen database and the clone drawings is a two-way link. If you change one or more of your clone drawings, using your CAD package, you can use Protogen to transfer those changes back to the database from which they were originally created.

Procedure:

  1. You must highlight the record(s) for the clone drawing(s) which have been modified before you start the function.

  2. Select the Protogen pull down menu.

  3. Select Transfer between DWGs and selected Records [see below]:

  4. Protogen can transfer changes both from the clone drawings to the database and vice versa.

Click Update DBFs from clone DWGs from the window:

  5. The changes you have made to the clone drawings should now be changed in your workspace. You should save your database.

Notes

The transfer of data between the Protogen database and the clone drawings in a relational system is not possible. The relational system is a one way process

In the simple system it is possible to reconstruct catalog information links during this process.
