How to Configure the Cross-reference Text Display

General

You can configure what the reference text displays on your drawing. You can also have a different reference text configuration for zone style and grid style referencing.

To configure the reference text for grid style referencing, go to the Grid Style tab page. To configure the reference text for zone style referencing go to the Zone Style tab page.

The reference text configuration pages contain two lists.

The list on the left side is what the reference text currently contains.

The list on the right contains the items which the reference text can contain.

For example the default configuration for Grid Style referencing is to produce references that contain the name of the drawing the component is on, a forward slash delimiter, the row the component is in (represented by a letter) and the column the component is in (represented by a number).

The box at the top of the dialog displays an example of how the reference text will appear.

An example for the Grid Style default is Drawing/B3. This would be a reference for a component at position B3 on a drawing called DRAWING.DWG

Cross-reference Text Options

The following table lists the available items that can be added to the reference text and what they mean.

FILE name ( if off drawing ) The name of the drawing file if the component is on a different drawing to the reference text.
Sheet Number Block

A user defined sheet number contained in a startref block or title block.

This option is mutually exclusive with continuous rows or columns, below.

See Configuring sheet number referencing for more details.
