Device Builder
General
The Device Builder is a function that builds the records required for a device and its terminals. Component builders are started when you choose to add a component or to reselect the specification for a component.
Procedure

Enter the name of the device in the device name edit box. A default name is provided by the name sequence assigned to the device folder.

You can choose the specification for the device from the EDS catalogs. Click the button, then choose the desired device specification.
A default map file is used to map the columns from the catalog file to the columns in the ratings record of the component. You can choose a different map file by clicking the button.

Enter the first terminal name, and the number of terminals for the device.
If the device was selected from the catalog, the first terminal name will be set and will require no further configuration.

Click the button to add the device to the database without exiting the dialog. The device name on the dialog will be updated to show the next name as determined by the device folder name sequence. Further presses of the button will add devices named incrementally.

Click the [OK] button to add the device to the database and exit the dialog.
Click the button to add the number of devices specified in the "Number of Devices" box, then exit the dialog.
If you are re-selecting the devices from the catalog then the number will be disabled, but clicking will modify all of the devices that you have chosen to re-select from the catalog.

Click the button to exit the dialog without adding any further devices to the database.
