Device Terminal Layout (CATX) and Physical Dimensions

Device Terminal Layout (CATX)

If the device is listed in a device terminal layout catalog file (CATX), the terminal number and physical position within the body of the device is specified for each terminal. The Wiring Diagram Generator can use these positions to arrange the terminals in the wiring diagram.

Terminals may be offset from each other to avoid interference between conductor information attributes. Therefore the wiring diagram may not exactly match the terminal layout of the device.

By default the Wiring Diagram Generator does not use the device terminal layout. To enable this, clear the Ignore CATX term pos box.

By default the terminals are arranged in the wiring diagram as they would appear if the device were viewed from the front. Use the Mirror button to switch the terminal layout so they are arranged as if viewed from the rear.

Physical Dimensions

If you use the device terminal layout in the wiring diagram, you can also choose to use the physical height and width of the device. The physical dimensions are obtained from the device catalog (CATD). The wiring diagram will then be a scale diagram of the device.

By default the Wiring Diagram Generator does not use the physical dimensions of the device. To enable them, clear the Ignore CATD dimensions box.

These settings can be found on the Devices tab page of the wiring diagram dialog.
