Redisplay main dialog after drawing

Redisplay main dialog after drawing

Tick this option to have Wirediag redisplay its dialog after drawing selected wiring diagrams without requiring reloading all of the device and terminal information from the schematic drawings.

This option is faster if you will select and draw individual diagrams rather than selecting then drawing many diagrams in one operation because it takes less time to re-start Wirediag automatically than when Wirediag is run from the Elecdes menu or AutoCAD command line. In this mode Wirediag keeps a large amount of the wiring diagram information loaded in memory when it redisplays its main dialog.

Remember panel for filter

Remember panel for filter

The filter on the main dialog that allows you to filter the device list by panel has four filter options (In any panel, Not in a panel, None, or Current WD panels) plus all of the panel names found in your schematic drawings. Wirediag will always remember your last choice of one of the four filters at the top of the list.

If you tick this option then Wirediag will also remember if you select a specific panel as the last panel filter.

When Wirediag starts it loads information for the devices from only the panels that match the last selected filter. Therefore, the best performance for starting Wirediag on a large project is to not tick this option. In this mode, you can start Wirediag with a minimal filter (either None, or Current WD panels), then choose a specific panel from which to select devices. When you next start Wirediag, the filter will still be your last filter choice, either None, or Current WD panels, giving the shortest load time.

This option is not applicable if Always start with 'Current WD Panels' is selected.

Always start with 'Current WD Panels'

Always start with 'Current WD Panels'

Tick this option to have Wirediag always use the Current WD Panels filter when starting, regardless of the last selection used before drawing the wiring diagrams.

When Wirediag starts it loads information for the devices from only the panels that match the filter. Therefore, this option provides good performance for starting Wirediag on a large project because it always filters to only the panels used on the current drawing. In this mode, you can start Wirediag in minimal time (filtering to Current WD panels), then choose a specific panel from which to select devices. When you next start Wirediag, the filter will again be Current WD panels, giving a short load time.

NOTE: When you first select this option it has no effect on the filter currently selected in the main dialog of Wirediag, which may be a specific panel from which you are selecting devices to be drawn. It only specifies the filter to be used when you next start Wirediag.

Ask before updating cache

Ask before updating cache

If the project cache is out-of-date when compared to the project drawing files then Wirediag will update the cache. If you wish this to happen automatically without prompting you then remove the tick from this option.

These settings can be found on the General tab page of the wiring diagram settings dialog.
