How to Configure Drawing Fonts

All Elecdes text and attributes have been set to be style STANDARD. When Elecdes is first run this style will be defined as the font SIMPLEX for AutoCAD and PowerCAD.

Customisation

If you wish to choose a different font for style STANDARD (the Elecdes default style), this style definition may be altered.

To alter the STANDARD style

AutoCAD users:

Alter the style definition, in this example to roman simplex, with the following command.

"STYLE", "STANDARD", <font>: "ROMANS", <height>: "0.0" etc.

PowerCAD users:

Use the FONT command to display the "Text Styles" dialog box. Move the selection bar onto the style that you wish to modify. Click the Modify button. The "New Text Style" dialog box will enable you to select the font file and other text characteristics for the style. Click OK when you have finished modifying the style.

You should use the height "0.0" for the STANDARD style.

Elecdes assumes the CAD package will ALWAYS require the text height when Elecdes inserts text. Elecdes will always re-set the font height in the current style to 0.0 whenever it must insert text.

New Styles and Fonts

The choice of font for text style Standard can be changed in the EL32.INI file.

  1. Open the EL32.INI file

  2. Scroll down to the [USER – ELECDES] section

  3. Locate the "TEXT_STYLE_STANDARD=Simplex" setting and change it to the desired font.
