How to Configure the Interference Settings

General

Paneldes allows you to specify a tolerance value that Paneldes uses to determine if two items interfere with each other. You can also choose which items are checked for interference.

Select Preferences from the Paneldes Menu. Choose the Interference tab at the top of the dialog.

Interference Clearance Sizes

  • Specify the minimum separation distance required by each different class of Paneldes item. If any part of any other component is within this distance then it is considered to interfere with the Paneldes item.

The default values for all types are 25mm for metric and 1in for imperial.

  • By default, items that are fully within the boundaries of another item do not interfere with that item. For example a device inside a panel.

Clear the tick from this checkbox if you want to consider fully enclosed items as interferences.

Check Interference On:

  • You can specify which types are included in an interference check.

  • The default setting is that Paneldes will check all types.

Select layers for interference checking

You can include or exclude entities by their layer for interference checking. When you click on the button Select layers for interference checking Paneldes displays a list of layers used in your model. Only the entities on the ticked / checked layers will be included in the interference checking.

Interference Viewing

  • If Hide other layers when viewing interference is ticked, Paneldes will hide all other layers while viewing interference, so that entities that overlap are more clearly visible.
