How to Replace one Symbol with another in Drawings

This tool can replace one symbol with another in selected drawings.

Procedure

1. Choose the files to modify

2. Enter the name of the symbol that will be replaced:

   • Click Choose from drawing and then select a drawing file. The symbol names used in this drawing will appear in the list box on the left. Select the symbol name to be replaced from the list.

   • Click Browse for symbol file and select the required symbol file. The symbol name will be in the list box on the left and selected.

   • Tick the check box if both orientations of the symbol are to be replaced into the drawing.

3. Enter the name of replacement symbol. Either by:

   • Typing the symbol name with full path in to the edit box or

   • By browsing to the location of the symbol file.

4. Select the appropriate "repair lines" option.

5. Check the necessary "Synchronisation" options to update attributes in the block to the new positions etc.

6. Click Start to start the replacement process.

7. When the process is complete, you may click Read Log File to view the output of the process, which will include any errors encountered.
