How to Reload an Edited Bill of Materials Database

General

When a Bill of Materials file has been created and Global Edited you will usually wish to re-load the modified contents of the BOM file to your model. The reload process is done inside a drawing session and will perform the following functions.

  1. Confirm that you wish to update the model (a safety precaution).

  2. Confirm that you want raceway reconstructed.

  3. Erase current raceway construction.

  4. Reconstruct all raceway, panels, devices etc. (new positions and sizes).

  5. Update all materials and tagging data attached to models.

  6. Rebuild the BOM file with new drawing handles (ensure all database links are stable).

The reload process can be time consuming. The option to not reconstruct raceway is provided for your convenience in larger models where reconstruction during minor edits is not required.

Reload Procedure

To reload a BOM file execute the following procedure.

  1. Select the Import/Reload BOM to Model entry from the Utilities and BOM menu.

  2. You will be asked to confirm the reload. Click the Yes button. Paneldes will then erase current raceway envelope and modify all components, including raceway routes, which have been edited.

  3. You will then be asked if you wish to reconstruct raceway construction. Answer Yes if you do not expect to do more global editing, or else answer No. (Raceway can be constructed on command at any time.)

Paneldes will then rebuild the BOM file and the procedure will end.
