How to Insert a Border or Title Block

Borders

Elecdes is provided with all standard border types. These include A0, A1, A2, A3, A4 for ISO conforming organisations; and ANSI "A", "B", "C", "D", "E" for ANSI conformance.

These borders can be found in the <EDS>\IMP_BORD and the <EDS>\MET_BORD subdirectories.

These standard borders can and should be exchanged for your company's drawing borders (complete with title blocks etc.). If your border includes title block attributes then there is no requirement to insert a separate title block.

There are no special entities required from a border.

Important:

Scaled borders cannot be used. Elecdes expects to find all circuits drawn 1:1. Scaling will alter interconnection analysis.

You may choose to explode the border after insertion.

Title Blocks

Elecdes is supplied with a title block to fit each size of border. The sample title blocks contain attributes that can be reported in a Drawing Index from Ebase.

Title blocks can be found in the <EDS>\IMP_BORD and the <EDS>\MET_BORD subdirectories.

These sample title blocks can and should be exchanged for your company's title blocks.

The drawing border and title block can be combined into a single block.

Procedure

  1. Select Insert border from the Elecdes > Drawing Macros menu.

  2. Select the border or title block file to be inserted from the list displayed. You may select a border or title block file from another directory if required.

  3. The border or title block will be inserted at 0,0 on the current layer.
