How to Create a New Project

Fundamentals

Creating a new project file creates a text file that contains the project drawing list. You should select the drawing files to include in the project after it has been created.

Procedure

  1. Decide whether you want EBASE to create a new directory for your project. If you do then tick the Create a New Directory for New Project box. The directory created will be the same name as the project file. The project will be created inside the new directory.

  2. Click on the Load/Create Project button. You will be presented with a standard Windows file open dialog. Choose the directory in which you wish to create the new project. Type in the name of the new project file and click OPEN.

To allow core EDS operations to function properly, the path to the project directory PLUS the name of the project should not exceed 235 characters. If you want to use Revision Backups and Multi-line Reporting operations, the path to the project directory PLUS the name of the project should not exceed 190 characters

  3. Once the project file has been created you should add drawing files. See Adding and Removing Drawing Files from a Project
