How to Navigate to a Component

General

Many EDS reports contain a reference to a component on a drawing in a REFERENCE field. From any report that contains a REFERENCE field you can navigate to the CAD drawing that contains the component. This utilises the cross reference navigation system available in Elecdes.

Procedure

1. Check to see if the database contains a REFERENCE field

2. Press CTRL+R or select Navigate to Component from the Context Menu or Edit Menu.

   • If you are trying to navigate to a conductor which is BLANK then Elecdes will offer you to navigate to termination(s).

   • If Elecdes is not running it will be started, once it is running the cross reference navigation function will be run in Elecdes.

3. The cross-reference navigation interface will be displayed in Elecdes for the component referenced in the database. From this tool it is possible to navigate to drawings where the referenced component appears.
